Cheshire Man’s Mission to Beat Celebrity Fundraising Total

Cheshire biking enthusiast Mark Griffiths is taking on the challenge of a lifetime to raise much needed funds for local charity Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Mark will set off on June 9 on a solo mission to cross 6 countries using pedal power alone. His challenge begins in Germany and continues through Holland, Belgium, France, England and Wales ending at Claire House located in the grounds of Clatterbridge Hospital.

Mr. Griffiths was inspired to take to his bike after hearing that the Rooney wedding had only raised a mere £500 for the children’s hospice charity despite the couple asking A-list celebrity guests to make donations by way of a wedding gift.

Mark said: “When I heard how much had been donated I thought I can raise more than that myself. Claire House is not far from where I live and I can see the good work they do. As a father of two I can only imagine what families with critically ill children must go though and I want to help Claire House to support them.”

Chester law firm Bartletts Solicitors immediately offered to support Mark sponsoring him £500 to ensure that he would not just beat, but smash his target.
