Ankle injury claim caused by pothole fetches £3,000 compensation
December 2010
Slips and trips in food processing and retail environments are often caused by spillages of food and liquids.
In this case, a pothole had been created inside a food processing warehouse, due to wear and tear from the internal traffic of fork-lift trucks.
Of course, the factory owner should have repaired the pothole, to ensure the health and safety of the employees.
So when one member of staff tripped and seriously injured his ankle, resulting in a trip to the accident and emergency department of his local hospital, there was a clear case for compensation. Whilst he had been able to return to work on light duties, it took nearly a year for his ankle to heal completely.
We successfully obtained £3,000 in compensation on his behalf.
